Fair warning- Randomness ahead
I've been thinking about blogging (and building an accompanying website) for a few months now. During this time, I have had many "brilliant" ideas about what to write, which have somehow disappeared into the recesses of my brain cluttered by thoughts of family, Christmas, New Years', Google Classroom, and planning for the Spring semester. But I promise, if you stick around, those gems will rise again to the top (or front?).
Thoughts on blogging
Not that I'm in any way an expert...because I am not, but I wanted to share some of my thoughts on this process. Mostly for me (and my memory). Finding the right platform took a while. I ended up deciding on Blogger because of 4 features:
- Free (yes, free is always good)
- Unlimited space (for my unlimited goals 😉)
- Easy to use (still have some orienting to do, but so far so good)
- Google based (thinking it would be easier to connect everything to Google Classroom)
The other challenge is trying to recover any brilliant thought (see Randomness above).
Just thoughts
So this blog, and this step out of anonymity, is really a New Year's Resolution. Certain steps I have taken over the past few years have lead to this moment. I am sure I will share more as time goes on, but it started with Project Based Learning Training, moved into Gifted training, which led to a teaching opportunity, which led to enrolling in a MA program, which led to invitation to participate in an advisory committee, which lead to being encouraged to share my learning and experiences with a wider audience. (Should have made a timeline 😁- Maybe that's another post). So one question (or two or a two- part-er):
What is your New Year's Resolution? And what steps have to taken to make it a New Year's Reality?
