"Ideas Worth Sharing"

I still have a few days before we start school again.  One of the benefits of being one of the latest school districts to release before Christmas is that we are one of the last to return.

With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays behind me and time for my MA class to start back up, I decided to get ahead by reading through the required weekly material when I found this video on the list:

"Do Schools Kill Creativity," by  Sir Ken Robinson

After watching this video, I realized just how much I enjoy watching TED videos.  So got my phone out and checked-  Did you know there's an app for that?  There is!  TED has an app for you to view, listen, sort, search, save and even download your favorite videos.

Since then (yesterday), I've watched (or listened to) several others, filling my head with many great ideas.  Here's a sample of a few others I've watched.

"My son was a Columbine shooter. This is my story" by Sue Klebold who gives interesting insight into the mental health issues that affected both her son and, later, herself, in the aftermath of this tragedy.

"I grew up in a cult. It was heaven -- and hell" by Lilia Tarawa who discusses her experiences growing up in a cult on the southern island of New Zealand.

"More Adventures in replying to spam" by  James Veitch.  A hilarious account of his replies to spam emails.

"This is what happens when you reply to spam email" also by James Veitch.  If you need a good laugh, you should really watch this guy.

These are just a few of the TED talks I've seen over the years and I've never been disappointed.  They share not only ideas, but experiences, view points, and passions that help me understand and grow.
